Alexander Bell
(March 3, 1847 – August 2, 1922)

On 10 March 1876 Alexander Graham Belll made the first telephone call in his Boston laboratory, summoning his assistant from the next room.

"Mr. Watson--come here--I want to see you"

Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on March 3, 1847. He was a scientist, inventor, and innovator. In 1870, he emigrated to Canada and moved from there to the United States in 1871.

Why is Alexander Bell famous?

Alexander Graham Bell is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. He was th first person to invent a way of sending th human voice over electric wires.

On 7th March 1876, 29-year-old Bell received a patent for his revolutionary new invention, the telephone.

On 27 March 1884  the first long distance telephone line between New York  and Boston was made.
