Robert Burns

image Robert BurnsRobert Burns was born on 25 January in 1759, in Ayrshire in Scotland. He is the national poet of Scotland. He died in Dumfries at the early age of 37.

Scots people all round the world celebrate Burns' birthday on this night with a Burns Supper.

What is traditional Scottish food?

Traditional Scots food include scones, Dunlop cheese and shortbreads.

Another traditional Scots food is Haggis. It is made of a sheep's or a calf's liver, heart and lungs, chopped with onions, seasonng, suet, and oatmeal, and boiled in a bag traditionally made from the stomach of a sheep or calf.

What is a traditional Scottish meal?

A traditional Scottish meal is neaps (swede), tatties (potato) and haggis washed down with whisky.
