Paul Cézanne, one of a group of famous French painters called Post-Impressionists, was born on 19 January 1839.

What is Post-Impressionism?

Post-impressionism began in the 19th century. The post-impressionists liked to use lots of colors and shadows.

Art work done by post-impressionists is mainly still life or landscape. Post-impressionists paint using vivid colours, thick application of paint, distinctive brush strokes and sharp, often outlined edges.
